Lady Crusaders Advance To Championship Game On Saturday

The WHS Lady Crusader Varsity Basketball squad won easily Thursday evening in 2nd round action at the annual Mulvane Wildcat Classic at Mulvane High School. After an easy win over Ark City earlier in the week, the Ladies advanced their season record to 10-2 defeating 2nd round opponent Wichita Southeast - final score 58-30! Scoring for Wellington were: Dani Anderson 17, Ashlyn Whaley 15, Kailey Jenkins 13, Carlie McComb 4, Savannah Cornejo 3, Erianne Adams 2, Megan Amrein 2, and Halynn Page 2. The Lady Crusaders' victory places them in the Championship Final Saturday evening vs Garden Plain who defeated Mulvane in the 2nd round to advance, 52-45.  Tipoff for the Championship game on Saturday is slated for 6:15PM - Good Luck Lady Crusaders - bring home the first place hardware!!!
